Custom XP PIP Transitions

This is a detailed list of the 49 transitions included in the PIP category. A number of these transitions (see the Notes/Comments) are included in Rehan's Picture In Picture (freeware) package (now superceded by his PIP Plus plug-in) and you must download that package to install those transitions. Please click here to download a 305 KB executable file that will install the remaining transitions on your system.

Please note that a number of these transitions (see the Notes/Comments) are based on what is known as the DirectShow Compositor Transition. The challenge in trying to do PIP with the DirectShow Compositor Transition is that it uses absolute values/coordinates to specify the size of the source video plus the location and size of the PIP window. As a result, users will not be able to preview a number of these transitions in Movie Maker and in other cases the rendered movie will be different from that shown in the preview window.

To avoid these challenges, Rehan developed his PIP Plus plug-in which uses relative values in lieu of absolute values. Thus, his plug-in is a better tool for doing PIP and his free static PIPs offer the equivalent functionality provided by the DirectShow Compositor Transition.
